The source of the 20 and 25 year bourbons has never been officially confirmed by Michter’s. The very early releases are rumored to be Stitzel-Weller whereas the more current releases are strongly believed to be Brown-Forman.
Willie Pratt—Michter’s former master distiller emeritus—was first to famously say that "17 years is the fork in the road" for their barrels. Current master distiller Dan McKee still uses that marker to determine whether or not barrels make the final cut.
